Run, Walk and Ride the Coasters for the Kids of Speech and Language Development Center. The Coaster Run offers a 5K Run/Walk, 10K Run and 1/2 Mile Kids Camp Snoopy Fun Run followed by a finish-line expo with a complimentary piece of Knott's famous Boysenberry Pie for all finishers.

All participants will receive a coupon good for 1/2 price adult admission to Knott's Berry Farm - a $56.99 value (good for up to 4 people, not valid for junior or senior tickets). Coupon is good for 1 month. (Youth tickets are already pretty cheap!)

You can have your friend or family pick up your packet, but they must bring BOTH Knott's Berry Farm Waiver AND Coaster Run Waiver signed by you AND a copy of your photo ID.

Packet pick up is from 11 am to 4 pm.

Speech and Language Development Center

Speech and Language Development Center

The 10K run, 5K run/charity walk and 1K kids run/walk through Camp Snoopy will raise money for the Speech and Language Development Center in Buena Park.

Founded in 1955, Speech and Language Development Center (SLDC) is a non-profit school and therapy center located in Buena Park and serving Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside and San Bernardino counties. More than 220 staff members provide programs and services for 340 students, ages 6 months through 21 years. Most students have multiple handicapping conditions. All programs and services are available on campus.

Race Rules

  • Entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable but participants may roll their entry fee to the following year if they send a written request prior to the race date.
  • Participants must be in good health and fit enough to participate in the event.
  • Participants must show photo ID at packet pickup to receive your bib, timing chip and other items associated with the event.
  • Parents of children without photo ID may pick up race items on their child’s behalf.
  • Participants may pick up a family member’s or friend’s race items at early packet pickup if they provide a signed waiver and a copy of a photo ID of the participant they are picking up for.
  • All race day bib and timing chip pickups must be done by the participant.
  • Bib numbers are required to participate and those who attempt to participate without bib numbers will be removed from the course.
  • No bikes, inline skates, skateboards or dogs are allowed on the course.
  • Baby joggers are allowed but must start in the back of the field to prevent accidents or collisions with other participants.
  • For safety reasons headphones are not permitted.



WALKERS: The 5K is open to both walkers and runners. Those interested in walking the 10K need to be able to complete the 10K course within the 2 hour time limit.

KIDS RUN: Parents are welcome to escort their children on the Kids 1K Fun run/walk through Camp Snoopy. Parents do not need to be registered to escort their children. If any parents would like to register to receive a t-shirt and finisher medal, they must register for either the 5k, 10k or the Camp Snoopy Kids Run "Adult Category" event, adults are too old to register for the kids run.

AWARDS/AGE GROUPS: Awards will be given to the top 3 men and women in each age division. 5K & 10K age groups are as follows: 13 & Under, 14-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-59, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75+.

 

 


 

Fundraising Rules

1. Registration and Participation

1.1. Participants who register for any Renegade Racing signature or Renegade Racing partner event do so under their own premise. Participants must agree to the content of the event waiver and adhere to all fundraising rules and regulations for their designated event.

2. Rules and Regulations for Fundraising and Donations

2.1 Participants may continue to collect additional donations after the event date has passed. Personal fundraising web pages remain active through June 1st 2013.

2.2 Participants may not reallocate funds to another Renegade Racing fundraiser, nor may they transfer excess funds from another Renegade Racing fundraising event.

2.3 All corporate matching gifts (or your guarantee for those funds) must be received by the Renegade Racing office no later than June 1st of each given year. We will accept a written letter from your company stating the exact amount that will be distributed and the date it will be sent.

2.4 All checks must be in Renegade Racing or Charity office no later than June 1st in order to count toward a participant’s fundraising for the current year.

2.5 A $20 fee will be charged for all returned (insufficient funds) checks.

2.6 Please send your fundraising dollars in as you receive them. Make checks payable to the Speech and Language Development Center and mail to SLDC/Coaster Run Fundraiser 8699 Holder Street Buena Park, CA 90620 . Be sure to clearly mark your name on the donations you send in and we will track your progress.

2.7 Fundraising dollars used toward sponsorships are not eligible for incentive prizes.

3. Fundraising Credit Rules

3.1 Fundraising for Speech and Language Development Center (SLDC) credit will be given as follows for new, paid sponsorships brought in because of your relationship, further defined below:

  • If you can get your company or another company to sponsor SLDC and it is not your job description to secure sponsorship — then you do get credit.
  • If you own a company and you sponsor SLCD (therefore basically taking out of your own pocket and giving it to SLDC) — then you get credit
  • If it is your job to secure sponsorship for your company — then no fundraising credit.
  • If your company or another was a sponsor of SLDC before you were involved with SLDC — then no fundraising credit.

3.2 Fundraising prizes will be awarded as follows. Prizes are not cumulative with the exception of all categories above $100 will receive VIP

  •  $100 VIP, Award includes VIP parking, VIP area access, FREE entry to Knott’s Berry Farm. (All fundraisers and donors who raise $100 are awarded VIP Level)
  • $150 Level, Award includes VIP and prize Coaster Run travel mug
  • $250 Level, Award includes VIP and prize Coaster Run windbreatker running jacket
  • $500 Level, Award includes VIP and prize Nikon Camera, iPod Nano or two Adult Annual passes to Knott's Berry Farm
  •  $750 Level, Award includes VIP and prize Kindle Fire HD or $200 in Amazon or Apple Store gift cards
  • $1000 Level, Award includes VIP and prize iPad Mini

3.3 Once a fundraising prize had been awarded no other prizes may be claimed even if fundraising dollars continue to come in past the prize award.

3.4 Once a fundraising level has been obtained the fundraiser must decide on prize if a choice is available before June 1st of 2013.  Fundraising prizes not claimed by Dec 1st 2013 will be forfeited.

3.5 Prizes are non negotiable and not transferrable.

3.6 All fundraising prizes are subject to availability and may be substituted for similar items of equal value at Renegade Racing or SLDC’s discretion.

3.7 Prizes are awarded to individuals, individual fundraisers or team fundraisers.  Donors who contribute to an individual fundraiser or team fundraiser group are not eligible for fundraising prizes with the exception of VIP.  Should a Donor contribute to a individual fundraiser or team fundraiser group, a donation of $100 or more, both the donor and the individual fundraiser or team fundraising group will get (1) one VIP pass.

4. VIP

4.1 Once you have either fundraised or donated $100 to the SLDC fundraising campaign you will automatically be registered as a VIP

4.2 Only the donor or fundraiser who raised the $100 will become a VIP

4.3 There are no guests allowed in the VIP area of fundraisers or donors; this includes children, parents, other family members, partners and friends.

4.4 Extra VIP spots may be obtained by additional donations and fundraising of a $100 per VIP spot up to 4 extra spots for a total of 5 or $500 raised.  An automatic designation will be made on the bibs of participants or on the list of non participants of VIP spots available.

4.5 Donors who contribute to fundraising campaigns only get 1 VIP pass even though they might have donated more then $100 to a fundraising campaign

4.6 VIP will be designated 2 ways

  1. Run/Walk participants will have a VIP designation on their bib tab. That designation will show how many VIP spots are available
  2. VIPs who are not participating will check in at the VIP area.  Nonparticipating VIPs will need to provide identification.

4.7 VIPs will be required to wear a wrist band to identify them once they have checked in.  This wrist band will allow access in and out of the VIP area without checking in-and-out.

Renegade Racing is sorry for those participants who didn't get a finisher's medal.  Those participants who gave us their name in the finish line who didn't get their medal we have your names already and we will be ordering medals in about 1 week.  It will take about 6 weeks for them to come into the office and we will get your medal out right away. So expect your medal in about 8 weeks.
