Southern California Triathlon Series Overview
Who’s the best triathlete in Southern California? For 2016 Renegade Racing is going to give participants the chance to find out. Triathlons come in all shapes and sizes: from short to long, dirt to road and from swim-bike-run to run-bike-swim. Renegade thinks the best triathletes are those who can race all distances and course conditions and still perform well.
All races in the Southern California Triathlon Series will count towards the overall championship but along the way the series will have championship races for each discipline/distance including: Reverse-Triathlon, Off-Road Triathlon, Olympic-Distance Triathlon and Sprint-Course Triathlon. So, in addition to the Series title participants could be crowed the Southern California Triathlon Series specific discipline/distance champion. Participants who race the 2016 Southern California Triathlon Series will earn points to a series championship. All participants will receive at least 1 point for participating in each event. First Place in each age division will earn 4 points; Second Place will earn 3 points and Third Place will earn 2 points in standard races. Races designated Championship Races will receive double points.
At the finish of the Turkey Triathlon in November, a series champion will be crowned for each male and female age division and overall winner. Overall winners will be designated by those with the highest points accumulated during the season. In case of a tie the participant with the lowest cumulative race times will win the title.
